Kozlović

Kozlović winery is one of the best-known and valued wineries in Istria. The family has been producing wines in the Valle valley since 1904. They've started small from just 1 ha of vineyard in the Valle valley, and have grown to 25 ha today spread across a few surrounding vineyards on top locations. Today, the winery is supervised and run by its fourth generation - Gianfranco and Antonella who took over the business in 1998. They've expanded the vineyards and the cellar, introduced the new, modern style of malvazija to be a fresh, crisp, light-alcohol, fruity wine and have also opened an attractive, guest-centric tasting room on top of their cellar overlooking Momjan and their Valle valley.

Kozlović sells bottled wine since 1987, and their most famous Malvazija, in 1998 (vintage 1997) won the award for the best white wine in Croatia. Over the past decades Kozlović wines have become a benchmark for Malvazia Istriana and are recognized as such abroad. They can be found at Michelin star restaurants in the UK and NL and are distributed to the US, UK, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands, Slovenia, Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro.

As a family winery their goal is to preserve the heritage and tradition of Istria and their ancestors, but they are also constantly investing in innovation and knowledge. That has led them to have the most modern cellar in Istria with a total surface of 2200 m2. The winery is built in a sustainable way using gravity racks and plants on both the roof and the walls aiming to respect inclusion of the building into the landscape.
